A Message from Our CEO

Dear Friends and Partners,

Every two years, Electra Mining Africa comes around, and I’m always struck by the same thing: the industry doesn’t lack technology. Walk the halls and you’ll find a solution for nearly every part of the value chain – fleet management, ventilation on demand, collision avoidance, grade control. Individually, most of it works, and works well. What’s harder to find is technology that was designed to work together – regardless of the company producing it.

That gap – between systems that perform to specification and an operation that actually runs better because of them – is where Ramjack has always lived. It’s rarely a failure of any one technology on its own; it’s simply what happens when good systems arrive progressively, at different stages of a mine’s life, and nobody is responsible for how they fit together. I’ve watched that gap keep showing up on new sites, in new countries, across new commodities, and closing it properly ensure we have to keep finding new and exciting ground to work on. There’s simply more to show this time than there was two years ago.

It’s the same gap that sits behind ESG. What used to be treated as a compliance obligation is increasingly an operational discipline in its own right – and the operations getting it right are the ones closing the space between what a project commits to on paper and what’s actually implemented and evidenced on site. At Ramjack, we’ve spent over a decade learning to close this gap on the technology side, so extending that same thinking to environmental and social performance feels like a natural next step to me, and this is the right moment to take it. It’s why we’ve launched Ramjack Environmental this year, and why we’ve asked one of our most experienced Ramjackers – Kevin Ramsay – to lead the charge for us as General Manager.
